Hello! My name is Emily Martinez I am a biology major at OU! The coolest thing about my major is that I've met so many amazing people through it, professors and friends! Also, it has taught me to work really hard for what I want. I also met my boyfriend at OU because we are both biology majors. I don't know if there is a lot that is interesting about me so ill just write some random facts about myself. I am El Salvadoran and originally from California but I don't remember much of California because I moved to pauls valley, Oklahoma when I was 2.  I have four siblings and I am the third out of the four. There once was a laundress who was growing tired of her labor and complained " This life is too dirty; I want something better. I wish to be an apple tree, where life is easy and the sun shines on me."  A witch heard this plea and said: " You wish to be a tree; then be a tree." The once laundress then became a tree. Unfortunately, she realized that the life of a tree was of giving to the creatures around her. People would come to pick her apples which hurt so much and animals would use her as a home which was a disturbance to her. One day an unfortunate fire started and she was burning and wailed in pain " Ouch this hurts, please! I no longer wish to be a tree I want to be fire. Fire is strong and fearless!"  The witch heard this clamor and said: " If you wish to be fire; then be fire." The laundress opened her eyes and she was the fire. How Bluebird and Coyote Got Their Colors  A long time ago, the bluebird was a hideous color. Bluebird knew of a lake where no river river flow in or out and he bathed in this lake four times every morning for four mornings. Every morning while he bathed he sang the same song: There's a blue water. It lies there. I went in. I am all blue. On the fourth morning, bluebird shed all his feathers and cam out of the lake in his skin. The next morning, he came out of the lake and he was covered with blue feathers. Coyote had been watching bluebird the whole time.  He wanted to get in and eat the bluebird but he had fear of the water. On the last morning, Coyote said, " How is it that you lost your ugly color, and now you are blue and beautiful? You are more beautiful than anything in the skies. I want to be blue too."
