Reading notes: More Brer Rabbit, part A

once upon a time, Mr. man had a garden so beautiful all the neighbors would come and see it.  some would look over the fence, some through the cracks, and some would go and look at it by the light of the stars. One of the creatures that would go look at it was Brer Rabbit.  when morning came he was always out and about.

Brer rabbit would be tempted by the planted vegetables and he would creep through the cracks of the fence and eat them. He would eat the vegetables and leave his tracks behind, this was especially apparent after rain.

The man Gardner went to his garden and noticed there were vegetables missing of different types in areas of his garden and he would wonder why they went missing.

He looked around and found brer rabbits tracks and what he couldn't take with him. Brer rabbit tracks were noticeable because he would leave his shoes and go to the garden barefoot.

the Garder called his dogs, Buck, Blue, and Brinjer, and had them sniff the tracks and off they went to find Brer Rabbit.  They were running so fast and made so much commotion that Brer Rabbit could hear them coming. He set off to his home as he heard the dogs approaching.  He found a place to rest and took a leaf and fanned himself because all the running he did made him hot.
Brer fox came walking by and asked, " Brer Rabbit whats all this fuss in the woods about?"

Brer Rabbit replied " There's this barbeque that they want me to attend and when I refuse they say they are gonna force me. It's not fun being as popular as I am. If you want to go fox get ahead of the dogs and go down the big road."

Brer Fox salivated at the thought of the barbeque and set off the big road like brer rabbit said. Brer wolf received the same news and went off to the barbeque. Brer Bear and Brer coon also heard of the meat and big pan of gravy at this barbeque and they set off to the direction.

As they all walked they got in the way of the dogs and the poor creatures started running away from them. Brer rabbit sat by the creekside laughing at his trickery and how there never was a barbeque.
